Creating and Defining the CMSA Brand

The Commercial Mortgage Securities Association (CMSA) looked to Percepture to help redefine and reestablish its position as the recognized authority for education and insight in the commercial real estate industry.

As part of an overall rebranding program, Percepture conducted an audit to rediscover CMSA’s key benefits to its membership and how it wanted to be perceived by this all-important constituency. This included gathering and review all externally-facing materials – advertisements, brochures, Web site internally published magazines, direct mail and more – as well as conducting in-depth interviews with senior leadership.

Percepture then lead a complete rebranding initiative, updating the global associations’ entire brand image – from logo to letterhead, and all elements in between. We also redesigned the CMSA web site and created a comprehensive brand standards guide to ensure the long-term consistency of the brand.

Launching a New Social Media Platform: First-month Results Quadrupled Expectations

Remindo.com, launched in February 2009, is the web’s first and only multi-use social media platform, bringing the best of social networking and intra-office productivity to companies of all sizes. Using a strategic online PR campaign, Percepture helped successfully drive more than four times the expected traffic to the site. The long-tail campaign includes consumer media interest from coast to coast, as well as providing counsel, introductions and materials development for VC efforts.

Media Relations Optimization: A 300% Increase in Targeted Coverage for Halocarbon

For decades, Halocarbon Products Corporation has been the recognized leader in fluorochemicals production. Halocarbon consistently outperformed its competition by creating unique and difficult-to-produce products for a variety of applications. However, global competition and price pressures were beginning to weaken Halocarbon’s position.

Percepture was brought in to create a holistic communications program and to jump-start Halocarbon’s global sales initiative. This included trade media relations, advertising, event marketing Web design and marketing communications.

Over the last four years, Percepture has increased media coverage by more than 300%, created multiple global customer and media events (in Milan, Madrid, Paris, Frankfurt and others), designed recognizable trade show booths and advertisements, and established strong relationships with the industry’s top journalists to ensure long-term coverage.

Brand Revitalization and Marketing Presence: A 3X Increase in Trade Show Traffic for Scott Gas, a division of Air Liquide

A division of Air Liquide, Scott Gas, needed a branding and marketing makeover to support its heavy trade show schedule. Though its products were well-known, the potential branding confusion that goes along with being acquired by a company the size of Air Liquide was daunting.

Percepture was hired to provide the company with a marketing and trade show makeover, including messaging, brand design and execution, environmental branding, trade show booth design and collateral design. To further support these branding changes, Percepture executed a PR and marketing campaign to drive traffic to the booth…resulting in three times the amount of expected traffic. Percepture continues to provide marketing and branding support for the company.

A new player in the freeze dried fruit category, Crispy Green, Inc. came to Percepture to help establish and promote its brand in the ultra-competitive specialty retail marketplace. Percepture’s industry research in North America identified several key opportunities for creating points of differentiation, which was made easier thanks to Crispy Green’s best-in-class taste and quality.

Percepture worked closely with Crispy Green’s senior leadership team to create the foundational messaging that became the baseline for aggressive media relations campaign. This media relations campaign was the only external media investment made by Crispy Green and helped the company realize a sales increases of more than 800%. Coverage included The Today Show, Time and The New York Times, leading to millions of relevant, sales-stimulating impressions, online sales and traffic to the retail locations where the product is sold.
